GudMoney was born from a real problem — millions of Africans living abroad paying exorbitant fees to send money home, and millions in Africa excluded from the global financial system. Our founders, themselves from Nigeria, built the app they wished had existed.
What started as a single remittance corridor between Lagos and London has grown into a full multi-currency account, used by individuals and businesses across five continents — without losing the original focus on transparent, fair pricing.
Milestones
Founded in London by two engineers tired of watching remittance fees eat into money sent home.
Launched phone-number banking in Nigeria — an account opened in under two minutes, no branch required.
Granted FCA authorisation as an electronic money institution; GBP and USD wallets added.
Business banking launched. Crossed 250,000 personal accounts.
EUR and CAD wallets added. GudMoney passes 500,000 accounts across 150+ countries.
What we believe
A bank account shouldn't depend on your postcode or paperwork. Phone-number banking exists so anyone can start in minutes.
Every fee is shown before you confirm. No spread hidden inside an exchange rate, ever.
We hold your money the way we'd want ours held — segregated, encrypted, monitored around the clock.
